For your Yellowstone planning this summer

In Vacation planning
In case you haven't heard yet, the entrance fee for Yellowstone and the Tetons and probably all of the national parks will be waived on three weekends this summer. The dates are June 5-6, August 14-15, and the one day, September 25, which is National Public Lands Day. The usual combined fee for Yellowstone and the Tetons is $25.00 per vehicle, good for seven days.
My next blog will be about my trip to New York and "Yellowstone Treasures."

We will be in Yellowstone for eight days (one more than the entrance fee is good for) including the August free days. No chance our pass will be extended by two day so that we get them free as well, I suppose?

I really don't know how to answer you. I have often thought it awkward for people who want to stay eight or nine days to have that pass expire, but I have not had the problem come up. I have to confess I've been on a senior pass during the years I've gone to the park for longer stays.
I'd suggest you call the park administration (307)344-7381 to ask, or wait until you enter and discuss it with the ranger at the gate. Sorry not to be more help on this!
